Mountain Dew MDX
Apparently Mountain Dew is coming out with MDX, a new hybrid soda/energy drink. In addition to normal soda stuff, it also has Ginseng, Guarana, Taurine, and D-Ribose. There’s no reports that it contains more caffeine, which is really disappointing, but nobody seems to know for sure yet.
They’re officially launching it during the World Series with a couple cool commercials. They feature nocturnal animals lip-syncing to Lionel Ritchie’s “All Night Long” and Corey Hart’s “Sunglasses at Night.” Just for the record: You can never, ever go wrong with Sunglasses at Night.
Somehow, there’s been a promotion on Mountain Dew’s website for most of this year, and drinks were given away at E3, and I didn’t hear about this. I must be slippin. Testers say it mostly tastes like normal Mountain Dew, with a slight bitter aftertaste. Some people suggest it’s from all the other ingredients. We also know that caffeine has a bitter aftertaste so I’m hoping for that. In addition, there seems to be less carbonation. People liken it Surge.
EDIT: I’ve confirmed that MDX has more caffeine than Mountain Dew. It has 82.25 mg in 14 oz, which is equivalent to 70.5mg in 12 ounces, whereas normal Mountain Dew has 54mg in the same volume. Yep, that slight bitter taste is caffeine! So, now you can kill yourself with MDX before you can even buy it. As the trend goes, Diet MDX has slightly more caffeine (87.5mg in 14oz). Both have been added to The Caffeine Database as well.

Yah dude, this is some good stuff… Not like Amp. Tastes a lot like the normal Dew. I could really go for this stuff if I was really trying to stay awake. I still have 3 left from the 6 pack they gave me for “registering” for E3. I’s send ya one… but I’d rather keep it.

So yeah, I tried this stuff today and I ended up down at the nurses office and then going home shortly after. My friend’s blood sugar went through the roof after he had the Sugar Free version. This is some dangerous drink.
Just bought some of this stuff and thought it sucked. If its going with the same caffeine levels I’ll stay with the normal Mt.Dew.
Alright CJ, if you went to a nurses office after trying MDX, then you really need to stop being a wimp (No offense). This stuff is child’s play compared to how much caffeine that I consume. Even compared to how much caffeine a normal person consumes it is not really much at all.
Personally, I am going to be staying with the original Dew myself. It tastes better, and it’s cheaper.

Yeah…I love the taste of the Diet…but it gave me horrible bloated feeling…anyone else get that feeling after drinking?
Actually E Dub Coke thought of it first with their new Soda called “Vault” it’s a repackaging of Surge with more Caffiene, MDX was created as a response to Vault
This stuff is awesome!!! Its way better than original Mountain Dew.It doesn’t give u much energy but man the taste is great!

Should be at most convenience stores. All the Loaf n Jugs here have it, think all the 7-11’s have it as well.

Hey You guys need to check out my comment to the most powerful energy drink ever. But anyway yeah i think mountain dew is really just taking over the marketing industries. This is awesome about this new idea for an energy/soda????? Only Pepsi could come up with that. P.S coke wouldnt even come close to this idea ever cuz Coke sucks ass compared to pespi and thats all to it.
