Apparently - during last year’s holiday shopping season, customers activated 15 million cards — that accounted for 12% of Starbucks revenue that quarter (src).
1 in 8 customers now buy their coffee using a Starbucks card…
Could this be the way of all fast food in the future?

Yes! It’s brilliant and so easy! Now, instead of using cumbersome cash, all I have to do is carry a separate card for every fast food restaurant I frequent. I just have to recharge the card with more money every few weeks and I’m all set. Hello, future!

If it had something built in like the Mastercard PayPass, then it would be even better.
I hate to go to Starbucks, simply because it’s hard to find real coffee there anymore, you now basically get a milkshake with coffee flavoring, but sometimes it’s just easier when there is one ever 100 feet.
i love these cards, u buy em for a dollar,and get ur nerdy’est friend to fill them up wtih money for you,go get one for a buck,and put 200 on it,always workd good for my one buddy,he eats tim hortans free all the time.
Firsthand, I’ve seen “The Golden Arches” and other major fast food places offer giftcards towards meals.
