Matt... August 17th, 2005 5:45 pm

…um… how about coffee? It’s not on your list.

annoybot August 17th, 2005 6:47 pm

According to wholelattelove.com:

drip coffee = 16.7mg/oz
espresso = ~25mg/oz

Evil Monkey August 17th, 2005 9:18 pm

thanks annoybot

Matt: I don’t put that on here because it’s so variable. Drip coffee can vary from 60 to 120 mg. Now I could put that, but it would require some new code so I don’t blow up the Caffeine Death Calculator :)

I just started “experimenting” with an energy drink called REDLINE. ANy chance of getting some info posted?

Cool site, btw.

[...] They also have a handy guide to energy drink ingredients and a sweet guide to caffeine content. [...]

I noticed they don’t have Arizona Diet Green Tea on the list, because I would like to know how much caffeine is in it.

Daisu August 18th, 2005 6:15 pm

would there be anyway to put a average cost per oz on here also, and maybe set up something to coenside with the death calculator to tell you how much it would cost to kill yourself with that thype of caffeine?

how about… redbull?

P L Maisonnave August 20th, 2005 2:55 am

Mate, (Ilex paraguaniensis) is a common caffein laden infusion drank, probably by the mayority of the population, in many countries and regions of South America.
Mate is found mainly around the Parana and Paraguay river basins where it had been in use by native amerindians since before 1492 and was adopted by european colonizers early in the 16th century.
It may be worth looking into it.

This site…. RULES! Anyway, I think Attack of the Show should put this on gems of the internet!

Steven Brier August 22nd, 2005 5:04 am

Is your ‘death by caffeine’ script available for re-use?

bnb August 22nd, 2005 9:41 am

A sidebar to the solid forms (chocolate covered espresso beans, over the counter tablets, etc.) would be nice.

When I’m setting up the kitchen, I down three Espressos, that keeps me going ALL DAY!
The rest of the day is strictly water in order to hydrate, usually two gallons a day.
I don’t know how much caffein is in Budweiser, but when I get off work I pound a bunch of those which really takes the edge off of the caffeine from the earlier day.
It’s a cycle.
Don’t ever drink coffee at night, or soda before going to bed. You won’t sleep well if at all.
Drink beer, take a pill, and smoke a doobie. You’ll get plenty o’ sleep then.

Hi – great site. Any chance you could add Coca Cola Zero? I just called Coke (1-800-438-2653) and there are 23 mg of caffeine in an 8 oz. serving for an average of 2.875 grams per ounce.

Shaynoos August 23rd, 2005 5:58 am

This is both hilarious and educational, hope you don’t mind but I just had to post about it! Being in the UK, I don’t recognise all the drinks on the list, and of course, there are many local beverages here you won’t have heard of. But that’s just fine with me, as the real value in what you’ve presented is already there, and it’s undeniably good.

Pyro with Drinkin problems August 23rd, 2005 3:56 pm
