Diet Pepsi Max: With More Caffeine

diet-pepsi-max.jpgPepsiCo is launching a new drink in June: Diet Pepsi Max. The drink will have about one-third more caffeine than Diet Mountain Dew.

Diet Mountain Dew has 55mg caffeine per 12oz – so we’re talking around 75mg caffeine – which is very similar to Mountain Dew Amp.

The drink, Diet Pepsi Max is geared toward consumers ages 25 to 34 who like the buzz of drinks like PepsiCo’s Mountain Dew, but are starting to become more concerned about their weight, the spokesman said (from MSNBC).

Speaking of PepsiCo – anyone notice their new slogan – “More Happy”?

UPDATE: Official – amount of caffeine in Diet Pepsi Max is 46mg per 8oz. Thus a 12oz can contains 69mg.

I am an electrician with a love for coffee. I find that my love for coffee in the morning leaves me wiped by lunch and w/out a coffee maker. I reach for “diet” pepsi max (i detest diet soda) and i love the taste and the wicked boost of energy. I will always stock this drink in my lunch bag.

Pepsico may be TARGETING 25-34 year olds but don’t anybody believe that the younger ones, age 6 and up, are not going to try it and…. get hooked. Just what they need, to be hyper everywhere and without sufficient sleep, on top of being super agrresive already.

I certainly hope that schools WILL NOT add it to their vending machines!!!!!

( and I thought that Canadian Mountain Dew was not allowed/supposed to have hidden caffeine…..contrary to the U.S.)

Regular Pepsi is the only way to go. I came across something today that most certainly gives to my expression of my desire for Pepsi over Coke, and thought I should share it. I am a REGULAR Pepsi person and always will be. Follow the link to a true Pepsi lover that will put his money there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jj7iwxMzxHA

This stuff rules! I can’t stand diet coke after drinking this. I could swear it was regular with sugar and no crazy bittery aftertaste. Get yourself some. TASTY!!!

Love it! I have always hated the taste of Diet Pepsi(to lemony) but enjoy Diet Pepsi Max. Tasts much more like regular Pepsi. Didn’t notice the added caffine and could do with out it as far as I am conderned. Hope it sticks around.
