VPX Redline Putting People In Hospital
Redline – the stuff of legends.
A guy drinks two 8-ounce cans of Redline RTD (along with a burrito). Minutes later he collapses, shaking violently (via SacBee).
Energy drink enthusiasts know that Redline is a drink that you don’t mess with. The label on the can suggests only drinking a half can at a time.
At first I thought the burrito-eating guy was foolish – surely he would have had to go to a GNC or similar drugstore where the sales staff would have warned him. But no – he got Redline from a 7-11 ! This stuff is an uber-stimulant. It’s a bodybuilders fat loss tool that is combined with training and nutrition (and I’m not talking about a burrito here).
Caffeine in Redline: Do We Have a Winner?
A few months back we predicted that Redline had about 250mg of caffeine in the can. That was an educated guess. As we read further into the Redline story from Sacramento Bee – we discovered that a toxicologist had managed to get VPX (the folks that make Redline) to spill the beans on Redline caffeine. The magic number? 250mg! Not bad guesswork from the EnergyFiendsters.
Another peculiar thing is that this news article actually quotes EnergyFiend — so watch what you say – you might be quoted in a paper somewhere.

I think I just figured out my limit on redline. I usually split a bottle with my friend, but he’s a lot bigger than me. He convinced me to take 3 pills, which is usually what he takes, and the results were terrible. I got shaky and nauseous and got the worst headache I’ve ever had. My eyes wouldn’t focus, and my heartrate remained elevated for hours. Frankly, it sucked.
I love Redline!! by far the best energy drink i have ever tried! number two in my list is NOS energy, but redline remains number one!!
My wife and I use this product daily shots and drink, We have 3 kids so it goes without saying we are very tired most of the time. My wife started to use this as a weight loss aid and has lost 35 to 40 pounds in about 3 months! Woots!! she looks and feels great!!! I take them for the energy boost. I have not had a single bad experience with this drink Sometimes I sweat a bit and my hands will be shakey, nothing that concerns me. Be smart, eat smart ( avoid high sugar and fat foods ) read the bottle and dont mix with those other energy drinks that don’t work anyhow. And just a bit of advice, eat regularly, your body needs food to function you will feel better and be healthier if you just watch what you eat. The beauty of this product is you can eat and still lose weight! Be smart and you won’t have any problems.
Redline is a great product. However, I have seen both sides of the coin with this one. The first time I tried it, I felt like I was on speed. The guy who gave it to me told me that it was an energy drink. Foolishly, I downed one on an empty stomach. Uh oh. Wowowowowowowowowowowo! Yayayayayayayayaya! Mommy! I want my mommy! My ears were ringing and I was sweating profusely. Don’t drink this stuff on an empty stomach, ever. And don’t drink it unless you workout. That’s what it is for. In complete moderation prior to workouts.
Redline should be taken off the market. I drank a bottle and it did nothing, a few days later I tried it again. The second time I started shaking and my heart rate was very rapid, I shook so bad I fell down the stairs. My entire body felt like it was asleep. I was terrified. Maybe it just affects other people harder than others, if not taken off the market then there should at the very least be a list of possible side effects on the lable.
I have taken redline… the first time i suggest is only drinking half of it first. For the people that are under the age of 18 it is not requimended. I pretty sure it says that on there. Just like any other diet pill or drink. Think about that. I just say drink and take the pill responible.Just like everything else. Dont mix differant energy drinks that is just retarded. You’re asking for a heart attack and that is your fault. Again it is just being responsible. DUH
I have been using redline for years but have never taken the drink. I buy the concentrated bottles. Back in the day it used to be cinnamon flavored, I miss that. Dont know why they took the cinnamon out because it is a metabolic stimulant as well. One of the early bottles I had I was not shaking before taking and I am small so I was taking way less than the bottle suggested but when it got to the end I decided to put a little water in the bottle and shake up the sludge on the bottom… OMG! I thought my heart was going to burst out of my chest it was beating so hard and I was really scared, luckily it lasted only an hour as I was eating crackers like crazy to absorbe the fluid in my stomach, a trick I learned in the coast guard for sea sickness.
Pulling Redline from the shelves won’t save you stupid people who don’t read the can before you down it in one “look at me, I’m tough” gulp. When 3 quarters of the bottle is a WARNING, and you have to unscrew the WARNING CAP from the bottle, you pretty much take responsibility for whatever you consume.
I don’t think the issue is “less Redline”, I think it should be MORE Redline. Maybe if a few of your hearts friggin’ exploded you’d learn how to read.
Go back to your redbull and 5 hour energy. Leave the good stuff to the big kids.
I would like it if someone told me a story of a time when someone actually drank half the bottle and got sick. You are only supposed to drink half the bottle, not two bottles. If you drink half the bottle, then that is 125 milligrams of caffeine. To put that into perspective, if you drink half of a spike shooter, you consume about 150 milligrams of caffeine.

I like to drink Redline about 20 minutes before my workouts. It helps keep up my stamina. I do not experience shaking or any of those other symptoms. I do not drink it unless I am going to workout. I also only drink it in the morning and I am able to sleep fine.
