Soldier Finds Green Goo in Amp Energy Drink
People are always wondering what exactly is in an energy drink.
Poor Eric Secrist chugged down a can of Amp (as in Mountain Dew Amp from PepsiCo) and got more than he bargained for.
He felt “foreign matter in his mouth”:
Secrist claims he examined the contents and found a light greenish solid compound that appeared to be the consistency of latex (source).
By then it was too late – Secrist had already ingested some of the “foreign matter”.
Now he is suing PepsiCo for $50,000 in damages claiming that he was made physically ill from the contaminated drink.
Hmmm light greenish – like latex. Wonder what was going on at the bottling plant?
I think I’m going to be sick.

crap happens all the time in the food industry, once i bought a pack of Whoppers, and one of them was a piece of chocolate covered used gum!

LIKE latex. There’s no actual statement about what it turned out to be. If I were me, I would have fussed until someone examined the ‘goo’ properly.

Another reason for me to not drink Amp, I suppose, but really, it could happen with any drink. Amp is one of my least favorites- of course, I don’t like Mt.Dew, either.
I saw this it was no sugar, it was straight up the finger off a latex glove. Im in Erics unit and I saw it.

I haven’t actually had a chance to try Amp yet. I do drink Mountain Dew quite frequently though, so I don’t have anything against their products, I just haven’t tried it. I’m with Alwaysintheroom; until I find something in mine, I’m not gonna worry about it and continue with my normal caffeine routine.

I love amps. they are awesome. they make me very hyper. i drink them all the time, them and monsters
Hey , people. It’s a great drink, and that was only one time. so lighten up a bit cause its a great product and makes you really hyper ! which its supposed to do by the way.

50 g’s can buy alot of good energy drinks,everytime i see these energy drinks in the stoor (even before i knew this) i was like “neighhh/skip” lmfao,iv tried them once before school,there absolutly pitifull,they diddnt even have me all ova da grill like sesamee seeds,to say the honest truth,i get more stimulated off a full lemon squeezed in a small glass and suckin that back in a shot.

I’ve never run into any issues with my amps- i like the amp elevate a lot- i drink them mostly for the codes to play for the mountain dew old school new school promotion but cant say ive ever run into laytex in my drink

AMPS have a horrible crash to them once you are all hypered out. arg i’m still suffering from the crash. You end up more tired.
Yet, another of the milions of reasons NOT to buy Amppppp
