Goodbye Cocaine Energy Drink…

First the FDA went after it

Then officials in Connecticut seized hundreds of cases of the drink due to some strange licensing law.

Then Cocaine was banned in Texas.

Now Illinois Attorney General has demanded that all sales of the drink cease.

It doesn’t take a genius to see that the days of Cocaine Energy Drink are numbered. I hope this does not lead to an all out war on caffeine.

UPDATE: Fully banned - the makers Redux Beverages intend to change the name.

Goodbye Cocaine, I never knew thee sweeteth burning taste on the backeth of thy throat.

Im inclined to buy a 24pack and sell it for a few hundred $$

Ironic that an energy drink sporting the name of an illegal street drug could now possibly end up on the black market itself! (lol)

videoCWK May 3rd, 2007 5:14 pm

>’: I never got to try any either

Fortunately I don’t live in the states where it’s banned, but still, I hope cocaine doesn’t come to an end.

I need to find some free and cut cocaine really quick it seems,… but u never know, I’m in georgia and im pretty sure enough people use cocaine that it might get to stay here :p

i still havent been able to find cocaine here. but i know enough people who know people who know where to find crazy energy drinks like that.

phlup May 4th, 2007 1:27 pm

I tried this energy drink and man after two gulps I started buzzing about 30min later. I had the tremors and it seemed to last about half a day. So I see why they are going to ban it.

SpazySteve May 5th, 2007 7:44 am

@phlup

This drink is not for people who don’t drink caffeine regularly. I’m going to buy tons of cocaine and keep some unopened.

SpazySteve May 5th, 2007 7:52 am

On a side note, where I live, I’m pretty sure people love their energy drinks, I don’t know how fast it will go away if at all.

xXkilokillerXx May 6th, 2007 10:21 pm

i am glad it is getting banned…
i refuse to drink a drink called “cocain”
cause the real thing nearly killed people i love

KarlieMildraed May 7th, 2007 8:28 am

(sorry I’ve been out of the loop)

I would “kill” to try a can of Cocaine ED. If it’s as potent as they all say, I’m game. But if it’s just some high powered energy drink that (to most here at EF.com) would be deduced down to a soda beverage, then chalk it up to another Pop I’ve tried and NEXT…

dylan May 7th, 2007 11:18 am

Well….i never had this myself…but it cant be that bad…

DeepInTheHeart May 7th, 2007 12:26 pm

I tried it and didin’t really care for taste or the burn it leaves in the back of your throat. As far as the kick, it works pretty well. It will ahve you bouncing pretty quickly. I may stockpile a few cans as collectors items to go along with the cans of Whoop-Ass and Krunk Juice :-)

The law that caused it to be banned in Connecticut was actually something about having unsupported medical claims associated with it. I never did here what specifically they were referencing in order to conclude that…

Spryte May 8th, 2007 6:21 am

Y-Y Thats so f-ing lame. The claim I had heard about, Was a guy who wasnt used to energy drinks -at all- tried it and got sent to the ER. Later they found he had chemical Burns in his stomach. But still, He shouldnt have tried something he didnt know about x.x

Ben "Da Sexy Sweed" Frost May 8th, 2007 6:31 am

Shame. Good stuff. Gonna clean the local gas station out before he runs out and takes it off the shelves…

XMADchugzX May 8th, 2007 7:18 am

i saw a dude drinking it and i want some BAD. i can handle quite a bit of caffiene.. especially 4 my size becuz i drink so much of it!!!!!
i hope they dont outlaw it.. at most they could put an eighteen y.o. age limit on it

HOBOBOB May 8th, 2007 7:16 pm

may 5th…banned by the man…

k May 11th, 2007 8:45 am

ok. they are still going to market the drink, same form. they are only changing the name. you people are acting like you will never see this drink again. stop pretending like the world is going to end because they are changing the name. just because you change the name of something doesn’t mean that it’s going to taste different. if i changed the name of pepsi to something like hype, does it change the taste? no! it only changes the god damn name so stop whining and get over it.

zach May 14th, 2007 9:40 am

It pisses me off that cocaine is gettin out of gas stations but luckly it hasnt been taken out of the gas station down the street from my house

Boo Radley May 15th, 2007 8:20 am

sweet to think tho…. they might ban it because of its contents when they re-release it. For me im set i could get 50 of them to drink or sell and make some money. i only have 30 now but i think that im gonna stock up because its good and alot of people like it.
