Java Monster: Coffee-flavored Monster Energy
We finally have some more details and pictures on the new Monster energy drinks - called Java Monster. There are three flavors: Big Black, Loca Mocha, and Mean Bean.
This, from an Energy Fiend reader:
The mean bean has a mild vanilla flavor, and the Mocha is slightly chocolaty! The two taste very similar, and resemble a coffee flavored milk more than anything else.
The can boasts “half the caffeine of regular coffee, twice the buzz”
In terms of formulation, Java Monster appears to contains the same “Energy Blend” as straight Monster.
Not quite sure about the “half the caffeine” bit. Monster contains about 70mg caffeine per 8oz - so presumably Java Monster is the same.
Anyone else tried it?

not yet, i think the sugar levels are a little lower than the regular drinks though.
Hey, I was the first to point this out. Yeah it’s good.
Can’t wait to try em! My cousin and I are Monster crazy and we both like the Starbucks bottled Frappuccinos. I hope they are good as the rest of Monster.

I love monster and i tried one of these when i was traveling threw dallas i loved i would drink them everyday if i could find them where i live at but unfourtunely nobody is carrying them yet :((
I just got these in my store… the samples are very good, not as sweet and creamy tasting as Starbucks, but there is something in these that got my heart racing and my energy jumped up ten fold over my regular homemade cappucino double . good stuff.

They just started carrying these at 7-Eleven’s in Skokie, IL. Mean Bean has sucralose and I can’t stand that taste (I could taste it in the drink). I’m drinking a Big Black right now and it’s very good. No sucralose in this one. Slightly sweet and milky. You can kinda taste the “energy mix”, comes off a bit bitter, but I dig…gives a nice buzz!

I’ve had it (picked it up @ the 7-11 on my way out from work).
Very tasty, not too sweet like a starbucks, but not to strong like normal coffee. Loved it

Just bought a can of Java Monster ‘Loca Moca’ at a convenience store. Tastes pretty good. Like an iced Mocha.
Got some today at local surf shop… Big Black…its good…It doesnt really have a monster taste but it still tastes amazing. The “big black” flavor is supposed to be Big’s “Official drink” from Rob and Big. Just came in yesterday. Not even on the Monster site yet.

While I was in LA, I tried the Loca Mocha one and it was really yummy. I didnt feel like it was too sweet, but then again I can’t stand STRONG coffee and i downed the can.
Can’t wait to see them come out more on the East Coast.
They all taste great and are working fine so far Went for Loca Moca first and it’s not carbonated like coke blak but still tastes good =)
This is going to be a hit. My sons friends all 14 15 years old like it better than Monster Green and Blue.

Tried the MEAN BEAN one, very good. Creamy vanilla flavor, I’m pretty much hooked. They claim to have half the caffeine of coffee, not half the caffeine of a regular monster.
I love this stuff!!!! I got a can of it today and after work went back and got the 2 other flavors.

I just had one and it is indeed a big old mess of milky, chocolaty, coffeey, utterly chuggable goodness. Aside from some ambivalence about the 240 calories per can, I am officially on the Java Monster bandwagon.
