Java Monster: Coffee-flavored Monster Energy
We finally have some more details and pictures on the new Monster energy drinks - called Java Monster. There are three flavors: Big Black, Loca Mocha, and Mean Bean.
This, from an Energy Fiend reader:
The mean bean has a mild vanilla flavor, and the Mocha is slightly chocolaty! The two taste very similar, and resemble a coffee flavored milk more than anything else.
The can boasts “half the caffeine of regular coffee, twice the buzz”
In terms of formulation, Java Monster appears to contains the same “Energy Blend” as straight Monster.
Not quite sure about the “half the caffeine” bit. Monster contains about 70mg caffeine per 8oz - so presumably Java Monster is the same.
Anyone else tried it?

I LOVE JAVA MONSTER! i fell in love with when i went to the bp/mcdonalds gas station in charlotte nc. NOW i cant even find it anywhere. if anybudy knows their secret hiding place, pleese let me know asap! its not too sweet and not to coffee tasting. so great! & energetic!
These things are great!! The claim about half the caffeine refers to Java Monster having 50% of the caffeine of regular coffee, which contains about 160 mg per 8 oz. Try looking for them at Casey’s General Stores, especially if you live in the Midwest. That’s the only place I’ve ever seen them. Suz - I agree with you - MONSTER should definitely step up the distribution!!
I LOVE it !! I am hooked but they have not re-stocked them !!! and it is driving me crazy…. This is the first energy drink that does not taste like cough medicine!!

I have had many cans of this wonderful drink. I have not had the black as I don’t like coffee. I know it sounds strange, but it is more milk shake tasting to me. I have had all the other monsters, and this by far is the best! I have given them to friends to try and everyone loves them. LOCA MOCA rocks. Charlotte NC
Yes, Java is the real thing. Tastes great! and no jittery buzz like coffee can give you. i am a big fan of all 3!
I am in love with the “Mean Bean”. I got my friends at worked hooked on it too which was kinda bad cuz now they buy them out! The only place we have found it (in San Diego) is 7-11’s and at a little deli by work..I would LOVE to buy them in bulk!
Just did two weeks delivering groceries around the Phoenix and SoCal areas. All the AM PM stores were carrying the Java Monster.
I got lucky and found some at the Chevron in Tucson on Swan/River. They made there solem promise to me that they would keep me in supply.

I absolutely love them! However for the last few weeks I have not been able to find them anywhere! I asked at the 7-11 where they were selling them and they said something about them being pulled off the shelf so they could do something about the Oregon bottle deposit…..didn’t make much sense to me and I havn’t been able to find them anywhere since…….I want them back:(
I am in Charlotte,NC and have generally been able to find the Java drinks at Gas Stations with the Monster can taped up somewhere outside and most all Shell Stations I have been to. This stuff is awesome.
Just saw these things today, and it left enough of an impression on me to actually google it, rofl. I found it at a Casey’s in Holdrege, NE (not where I live), hopefully I am able to find it in places I live close to soon The Casey’s in my city does have the M-80 flavor though, tasty tasty. But still not as tasty as the Loca Moca I thoroughly enjoyed today.
Can’t get enough or find it very often. Need to send out mass quanities to all Monster suppliers!!!!!!

I whent to my gas station, right by my house this morning, to get a drink, and the monster java caught my eyes(got me all excited)! These drinks are the best!! I love coffee and I love enery drinks! Two in one…Perfact! THESE TASTE JUST LIKE THE FRAPICCINO STRABUCKS DRINKS..BUT WITH ENERGY IN THEM, AND ALOT BIGGER! THEY KEEP ME GOWING AT WORK. THANKS…YOU GOT ME HOOKED!
Given one as a sample at our local Harley dealership. LOVE at first sip-gulp-chug-slug-that-puppy-right-on-down-beg-for-another! My husband and friends laughed themselves crazy at my very unladylike gluttony! Now, I search every cooler I come across looking for my Monster Java fix! Love em! You’ve got that “other” canned coffee beat!
I didn’t like the mean bean flavored. I guess it was vanilla. I didn’t realize it though. The mocha and bean are available at some 7-11’s in Chicago, but these were too sweet for me and I didn’t like the 1/2 the caffeine thing.
What’s up with that?
the “Big Black” Java Monster is also good, not quite as good as the Mean Bean, in my opinion, but still… all three taste very similar to the Starbucks cold coffee drinks.

Like Suz said “Note to MONSTER - MASS Distribute Please!!!!” Monster Java is the best canned/bottled “Coffee” I have ever had. After my first can it nearly dethroned my favorite monster Assault. I’ve only seen it once, at a small deli in butler. I’m shocked I cant find it in my haven away from home, 7-eleven.
I have found these at an exon station in Milton VT. these drinks are great. Monster really should increase production.

I am a huge fan of energy drinks and since Ive started drinking them Monster has always been my favorite. I usually grab a couple of them before I start my evening shift at work. To my suprise I walked into a local Caseys and happened to see the Loca Moca. Bought two cans and I am hooked! Great flavor all around. Nice and smooth with no bitter, sharp, or overpowering taste whatsoever. Completely floors the Starbucks brand cold coffee drinks…hands down. I have only been able to find the Loca Moca but will try the other two flavors as soon as they are available in my area.
Two thumbs up to Monster for creating a fantastic new coffee energy drink!

i got one at block buster and it was like three dollars but it was GOOOOOOOOOOD!
We live in Northern Michigan and they can’t keep it on the shelves. It is $2.00 a can here and well worth it. Now if we can just get the company to drink their own product and put production into high speed we would all be happy!!!!
i found them when i was camping up in Georgia and i fell in love with them and so did my friends now im back in central florida and i cant find them anywhere, does anyone know where i can get them at around the orlando or cocoa beach area?

Hey Andrew.. My sources tell me that all Hess & B.P Connect locations in the Orlando/Cocoa area’s have all 3 Java Monster flavors available, so Drink on my friend and enjoy!!
You can find these at 7-11 stores in the Detroit Metro area. I first started seeing them about a month ago, and after 2 weeks they were all gone… word from one of the 7-11 managers is that they’re selling so well they’re hard to keep in stock.
I’ve found myself driving around looking for other stores that carry them, they’re so good. The taste is great: a smooth coffee flavor, not too sweet, not too coffee-y, and they give you a nice long buzz. My favorite is the “Big Black.”
Fortunately, I got my fix this morning. The store second-nearest to my house got some in stock (the delivery guy was still in there when I showed up) so I bought as many as I could carry.
If you love coffee, these are highly addictive!
I have returned to comment once again to say that all 3 flavors are available in the small community I live in now (West Central Missouri). I started with Loca Moca and was hooked. However, I tried Mean Bean today for the first time and it has dethroned my obsession with Loca Moca! The flavor/taste of Mean Bean is something to be reckoned with! If you havent tried it ye I strongly recommend doing so. Monster have created a MONSTER!
I live in the Dallas/ Fort Worth, TX area and I’ve found them only in 7-11’s and Quik Trip (QT). Does anyone know where to find a package of them instead of just a single can at a time?
What retailers have you found Java Monster?
I am in Tucson and Albertson’s is the only location I have found so far after checking Safeway, CVS, and 7-Eleven.
