America’s Most Caffeinated Cities

HealthSaver recently conducted a survey of 2,035 individuals. They were specifically looking at the caffeine habits of different cities.

NeedCoffee.com has the reproduced the survey results in full.

Here are some salient details:

Most Caffeinated Cities:

1. Chicago
2. Tampa
3. Miami
4. Phoenix
5. Atlanta

Least Caffeinated Cities:
1. San Francisco/Oakland
2. Philadelphia
3. New York
4. Detroit
5. Baltimore

Most Coffee Consumption, Regular coffee & specialty coffee drinks:
1. Seattle/Tacoma
2. Boston
3. Houston
4. Chicago
5. Miami

Most Energy Drink Consumption (Red Bull, etc.):
1. Riverside/San Bernardino
2. Los Angeles
3. Chicago
4. Miami
5. New York

Cities Most Likely to Say Caffeine is Bad For You:
1. Los Angeles
2. Riverside/San Bernardino
3. San Francisco/Oakland
4. New York
5. Atlanta

Interesting stuff. There is something in here that is quite amusing.

What is the most hypocritical state (my conclusion – not the survey’s)? California.

Los Angeles and San Bernadino both quaff the most energy drinks – and yet both say caffeine is bad for you… Then again New York is not far behind.

“Ya know, like, caffeine is bad for you man. Pass me another Red Bull.”

Yay Tampa! I knew we would finally excel at something!

I’m frankly offended Philly is listed as one of the least caffeinated. I don’t care about the soda, but we have coffee houses all over the place. This city is practically stupid with caffeine.

How many cities have a podcast recorded there dedicated to caffeine? Philly does. I should know its my SHow, The CaffiNation Podcast. You’d think that would count for something…

Anyway, great site man. This is the first time i commented but i get a ton of information from your fine establishment!

the pool of subjects is way way wayyyy too small. If this was repeated with another 2,035 individuals, i’m sure the results would be completely different.

Way too few, 2,053. One person could do that in a week.

Oh, this is too much fun! This survey they conducted, while it definitely had way too little amnt of participants, still has pretty interesting results. “Ya know, like, caffeine is bad for you, man. Pass me another Red Bull.” Yeah…like, ignorance is bliss, man. ;-) Thank u 4 posting this. -Drinking a Grande Caffe Mocha @ warp speed…

caffeine might be bad, but all of us have to admit it keeps us running wen we are about to pass out lol.

Paul, a lot of the coffee houses in Philly are on their way out. I know a couple of coffee houses on Mayfair have just shut down. It’s kinda hard to keep a coffeehouse going. Not much income…
