Mana Energy Potion
Thinkgeek have just begun stocking Mana Energy Potion.
Mana is an energy drink made for gamers. It resembles a magic potion that you will find in any number of role-playing games.
This baby has some kick. 160mg caffeine in a little 1.35 potion-sized bottle. The picture below (flogged from ThinkGeek) gives you some idea of the size. As far as other ingredients - Mana contains the usual suspects - B Vitamins, Taurine, Glucuronolactone. However Mana also has an “enzyme blend” - all 400 micrograms worth.

Available from ThinkGeek in 6-packs ($19.99).

I too am curious about the taste.
Yes, our RPG characters have all had the pleasure of a great deal mana potions, so apparently they can’t taste all that bad… although, if gifted with magic I too would consume large amounts of mana so I could go blow things up even if it did taste like nyquil. Who knows, but my curiosity will eventually get the better of me.
I hope e-fiend will do a review of Mana soon. It woudl make me happy, at least
Bridge to Captain Kirk: let’s go Red Sox!
I have some on the way and should have a review up soon. I think is actually in a glass bottle. That is one cool package. I have no idea what it will taste like. It is a shot though so taste is really not the important factor.
From the pic it actually looks kind of thick. I wonder if it’s any good.

Is the taste important with such a small amount?
I tried some of this stuff. (I bought it more for the novelty than the energy.) It actually ain’t that bad. The sickeningly sweet-tart candy flavor can’t hide the OMG bitterness of the caffeine tho. I drank half of one after my lunch break and was rather quite productive for the rest of the afternoon. I had the 2nd half just before I left work and did rather a lot of housework when I got home. The energy didn’t hit me like having some energy drinks, where my heart races and I shake like a leaf. I didn’t get the jitters and the energy was long lasting. I did notice that it left me rather dry-mouthed and I had many trips to the water cooler there after. But that was the only real down-side to it.
I bought these… I thought they tasted terrible. Sort of like 5 hour energy but not quite as bad. They definitely work for a kick of energy, but unless you like that extremely tart flavor with a rotten citrus aftertaste, don’t drink it for flavor.
Ugh. Was finally going to order some of these from ThinkGeek and try them out for my self and they’re out of stock until later this month. Just a few more weeks until I get my fix. Just a few more weeks…

I had 1/4 of a bottle this morning before work. It tasted awful. Now two hours later I’m left with this dry, bitter taste in the back of my mouth. Reminds me exactly of one of the side-effects of taking zopiclone (sleep aid). Can’t say it made me any more alert because I took a huge bong rip after the sip of the Mana Potion. ![]()

What does it taste like?
