Eel Energy Drink
For any energy fiends that might be planning to visit Japan this summer, there is a new energy drink there called “Unagi Nobori,” or “Surging Eel”
It’s not named that just for show, it contains real eel juice extracted from the heads and bones of the slimy critters!
The drink is being released prior to the start of Japanese eel season, when this culture consumes eel in mass quantities because of their health enhancing properties most noted for the stamina enhancing properties.
Along with the eel juice, they threw in vitamins like A, B1, B2, and D. The drink is a fizzy, yellow concoction that tastes like, you guessed it, eel with a sweet finish.
Now I’m a big fan of unagi sushi, but to drink a fizzy beverage with that flavor sounds a bit repulsive to me.
So if you’re heading to Japan, give one a try, and then write Energy Fiend to tell us what you thought of this strange beverage.

OMG! Eel juice does NOT sound the least bit tasty. Lol. Uuuummm…how about I just stick to what I know and continue to drink a 6 Hour Power here and there when I need a boost of energy? The best thing about a 6 Hour Power is that they don’t make you crash like most of the other energy drinks. And even though they’re sugar free they taste great. I recommend the berry because it’s my favorite, but the orange, lemon lime, punch, and grape are good too. I had my first one when I started working with 6 hour power, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Most people are worried about their health when it comes to energy drinks.
