American Blast Energy Shot
Previously, I reviewed American Blast’s line of patriotic energy drinks. However, they also offer an energy shot much like their full-size offerings.
Featuring ample amounts of some interesting ingredients, this shot could have potential among the waves of energy shots out there.
Flavor
This shot took me by surprise – it was like cramming their energy drink into a shot! It has a candy-like sweetness with a sharp aftertaste of Ace-K and sucralose. Although you get a stronger, more “condensed” flavor with the usual sugar-free aftertaste, but it still tastes great compared to other shots on the market.
Ingredients
This little shot contains 80mg caffeine, taurine, panax ginseng, mucuna pruriens, glucuronolactone, tyrosine, inositol, and a proprietary fruit blend called “Quik-Sorb”. As in their energy drink, this shot contains mucuna pruriens, which can have antidepressant and libido-boosting properties due to their L-dopamine content. It is artificially sweetened with Ace-K and sucralose.
Energy
This shot definitely won’t get you bouncing off the walls, but it does give a boost similar to a Red Bull as they both contain 80mg of caffeine. This may not be enough to stimulate more caffeine-tolerant people. I noticed my mood improve a bit, which may be due to the L-dopamine in the mucuna pruriens.
American Blast’s energy shot ends up being a good way to get energy quick. However, it may not suit everyone due to its artificial sweetening and lower caffeine content.
