Liquid Z Energy Drink Review

diettogo-008I’m a big fan of the “juiced” energy drinks.

Given the choice, I usually always go for Rockstar Juiced or one similar as I think the juice covers up the taste of the energy ingredients quite well.

When I went to Sheetz convenience store to see what energy drinks they had to offer, I discovered their store brand,  Liquid  Z. They had three varieties to choose from, but I automatically went for the orange mango 50% juice.

Taste

After the first sip I was like, “what is this….”!?!  No where on the can did it say “diet” or “reduced calorie”, but the unmistakable aftertaste of sucralose was evident. Sure enough, this drink is mostly sweetened with the stuff. Now, some of the other “juiced” drinks use some, but not at this overly detectable level.  I’m not a fan of diet drinks at all and I was kind of angry that I was tricked into drinking one! As for the flavor, it was pretty weak and didn’t taste much like juice at all…

Ingredients

The can also states “high octane”, but that is a promise that does not come true with a measly 100mg of caffeine, no taurine, and weak vitamin B levels.

Effect

I tried this drink several hours after I had my morning coffee. I noticed a slight increase in alertness, but also a nice dose of the jitters.

Verdict

Store brand drinks are usually cheaper and this holds true with Liquid Z, but to me this was a waste of money as I could have spent $.50 more and had a Rockstar Juiced. Weak energy ingredients and deceptive can labeling make this my all time worst energy drink.

Ouch! I would say it should be called Liquid E on account of it earning the lowest grade possible, but that would imply something that it sounds like this drink could never hope to deliver

This drink is iffy…although I do believe, that for its price, it delivers. The original is just another red bull knockoff, but the juiced is reminiscent of Monster Khaos (though not near as good), and the Blue Ice is quite tasty in a cotton candyish way. For a mediocre price, you can’t expect more than mediocre taste. Although as far as energy goes, this drink has no hope.

thanx Tim for saving me the pain of trying the other varieties……
