Nerd: Focus & Energy Beverage
Yes, it’s true – sometimes the energy product samples shipped to me come with promotional gifts.
Undoubtedly, the companies are banking on humanity’s kryptonite: reciprocity, to influence my review of their product.
All the manufacturers out there ready to send me some product with a gift, cover your eyes for this sentence because I do enjoy them: the gifts do absolutely nothing to sway my opinion on a product!
Now, where am I going with this? Well a company actually did send me a gift that put me deep in their debt. I’ve enjoyed this gift so immensely that I urge you all to buy NERD energy drinks to support the company. Here’s the thing: this gift was their product. One of the most enjoyable energy drinks I’ve ever laid hands on. This is why I am in debt to them.
Taste
Mouth to can, liquid to tongue, aggressive and articulate. Mouth closed, liquid dispersed, bright and crisp. Throat swallows, liquid evacuates, balanced and smooth. It’s Mountain Dew, it’s green Hi-C, at times it could be neither of them. It’s the 21st Century ambrosia.
Ingredients
Seriously, I have no idea where to start. Might as well begin with what I know: 120mg caffeine, ~35mg guarana, and over 100% of each your DV’s of B-vitamins 2, 3, 6, and 12. Now for the uh, more involved part.
Every single one of the following ingredients is meant specifically to “enhance brain focus and memory retention capabilities”. This is actually the whole point of this drink, to focus that wily conscious of yours. Here they are, take them for what you please: vinpocetine, huperzine a, DMAE, and Chinese gingko biloba. Confused? Go see your friendly neighborhood Google search box.
Effect
Down this drink and its barrage of sensations will toss you into a whirlwind of focused productivity. Not tweak your face off energy. After downing my first can I cured goose bumps, synthesized an environmentally friendly alternative to WD-40 out of vegetable oil and dish soap, and bicycled to the Grand Canyon just to jump off it using a glider I knitted from a ball of steel wool. Jitters or crash? Fogettaboutit!
Verdict
What, do I have to spell it out for you? This is possibly one of the best energy drinks on the market. In my view, it’s tied with Rockstar Punched Guava for best. drink. ever.

bill, my involvement with this site is not connected with any form of revune it recieves. I review because I enjoy the free samples as well as writing about them.
It sucks that all the best energy drinks are hard to get, but it seems like this drink will grow pretty fast after seeing how much reviewers like it. I just don’t like that people compare the taste to Hi-C because I like more complex tasting drinks (like Guru).
As the site administrator I will reiterate what Dusty said. He is not paid by us to review drinks. Also, advertising is how the internet works in case you haven’t noticed, unless you want to donate the money to keep this huge site running on a dedicated server……….
I do understand it takes money to run a site. Google ads and such you have no control over thus can’t taint your reviews. Doing a review for a product that you actually host an ad for yourself and are paid directly for is another thing though. Not saying that you guys would be dishonest but the feds are working on a law

If I was running this sight I would be leary of having ads for products I am reviewing. From the looks of what the FTC is going after even free t shirts might be considered gettin paid. And Dusty I never meant to imply you would be dishonest. I lurk here a lot and respect your reviews.
This is an energy drink review website so it makes sense that the advertisements are for energy products. Also, look around the internet, Dusty isn’t the only reviewer who loved this stuff.
Dusty!! You just reviewed one of the energy drinks I’ve always been curious about! Thank. you. Have you ever considered reviewing “Pure Cofain 699″ too? Those two I’ve been extremely curious about for about a year now.
Gilly, glad to hear
For the most part, I only review products from manufacturers that contact this site and send product my way. Hopefully, the makers of the product you mentioned will contact us soon or we’ll have to track them down!
Gilly, I’ll see if I can get some sent to him…
Sweet, guys. Thanks.
what’s the chance i’m going to find this in a store? as much as i trust you dusty, i’m not sure i want to buy a case based on a review.
I’ll have to look for this one. Most of the stores in my area carry the standard fare of Red Bull, Monster (one of my favorites), and Rockstar.
As for the FTC pending law, I’d love to see them actually figure out how to enforce it. Most Google Ads are generated and placed automatically on sites based on the content of the website, therefore it makes sense that an ad for whatever is being reviewed on the site might pop up beyond the site owner’s control.
Tramp, I do not have a clue about where you can buy this drink in stores. Maybe they have a dealer locater on their website?
I checked out their website. It’s well done, but there’s no dealer locater, only a buy button. Which isn’t a problem if the product is as good as you say it is, since it comes out to around 2 bucks a can
This energy drink is based in San Antonio and was actually created @ UTSA. It’s still young and fairly unknown, which means that it’s not widely available like the other giants are.
As far as I know, it’s not available in retail stores outside of Texas. And evein *in* San Antonio, it keeps on selling off the rack quickly.
I highly recommend buying a 24 pack. I have yet to meet anyone who has tried this and disliked it one bit (well to be fair, I do know one person, but his body can’t handle sugar of caffine well anyways). It’s an excellent drink, and besides, it’s much easier to spread the word when you have more to go around.
ifound nerd at energy drink at thegas station by my house. im an energy fanatic and this is an excelent drink. the taste is wonderful. you dont crash. period.

So are you as impartial when you review products that you have ads for(like spot on)? I mean free swag is one thing but cold hard cash is another.
