what people have been saying is ridiculous, i attend the collage and we have been informed that the girl drank two drinks on an empty stomach! this incident was shown on television and they are not allowed to put a limit on it because they would also have to put a limit on coffee if they did. whoever writes these reports must get their facts straight first.

This doesn't make sense. Normally if someone takes too much caffeine for their tolerance level they will have heart palpitations, nausea, feel jittery or anxious, tremors, general malaise, panic attacks etc. But this girl passed out, which I have not heard of happening with a caffeine O.D. I read the news report which said she was experiencing rapid heartbeat but would this have caused her to pass out? When I first read the article I assumed she had hyperventilated but I researched this a bit and it seems for hyperventilation to occur one would have to be breathing heavily or rapidly. This could happen with a panic attack or something but that doesn't seem to be the case here. I also wondered how long after she drank the shot did she pass out. I don't think she "crashed" either as the half-life of caffeine is several hours and the article said she passed out shortly after she drank it. I think there is some other vital piece of information that we don't know about.

I've recently started drinkin the NOS energy drinks they have here in NZ, and they don't look anything like the pictures of NOS on this site.

They have pic's of the NZ range on their site.
http://nosenergy.co.nz/

But I'm guessing they are associated with Demon Energy as they are stocked in the Demon chiller at the supermarket.

Maybe I'm allergic to something in Spike, but I really don't think that they should be put in the same place as normal energy drinks (plus they taste horrible IMO).

I've tried this. In fact I've got 2 empty bottles of it on my desk to celebrate it's power.

Normally I would stay away from these because it is quite strong in my opinion. I once drank 1 on an empty stomach and notice I'd become nauseous shortly afterward.

Although on a normal day I was fine after drinking it. It gave me quite the kick. Same effects as most energy drinks, but bigger kick for me meant bigger crash.
I normally stay clear of these because I prefer varying my daily caffeine intake.

As for making a 15 year old girl pass out, it's possible, but I'm more inclined to think that she may have had other health issues, and that NOS Powershot might have been an additive, not the route cause.
