Alcoholic Energy Drinks Under Attack
The news wires are buzzing with the latest announcement from the FDA.
It seems Alcoholic energy drinks (premixed) are on the chopping block this time. I know the FDA thinks they are on a mission to save human kind and all, but this measure seems a little silly to me.
Alcohol/ Energy drink hybrids were born out of the already popular Red Bull mixed drinks. Companies just decided to premix what was being highly demanded in clubs and bars. On energy fiend we’ve already covered this debate on how caffeine allows people to drink more, but I would argue people have always done a good job of drinking more with or without caffeine.
Besides, people can still order a Red Bull and Vodka at the club or still mix the two at home, so the only thing this will eliminate is convenience. America is becoming such a nanny state who seems to focus on these petty issues when a blind eye is turned to the real problems facing American society.
The whole controversy stems over the fact that teens are consuming these hybrid energy drinks……. So call me crazy, but shouldn’t the focus be on how these teens are getting alcoholic energy drinks in the first place? Once again punishing all of society for the irresponsible actions of a few.

They better not ban them! I’m not old enough to buy them for my collection yet!
Sparks and Tilt both caved in a while back and now contain no caffeine. Now the players are smaller companies Like Joosed. You migh still find a sparks with caffeine but it will be an old one.
I don’t drink alcohol, but this is retarded! The fact that the FDA says they have to prove that the product is safe or they’ll be shut down shows that they are guilty until they are proven innocent, and that’s un-American! Does no government agency follow the constitution these days?
The FDA finds these drinks dangerous because the energy drink part of it is an upper and the alcohol is a downer. It is very dangerous to ingest both at the same time and can cause immediate heart problems.
WHY ISN’T ALCOHOL ILLEGAL? Those bloody idiots can’t think for shit.

A Wal-Mart near me used to carry Sparks. Their packaging was so crappy, you could take cans out of it without breaking it open, kinda like Amp used to be. I’ve heard of teenagers switching a couple cans into Amp and going through self checkouts so they wouldn’t get caught.
