Firestar Energy Booster Review

firestar-energy-boosterThe phrase big things can come in small packages, could not be truer then in the case of Firestar Energy Booster.

Before I received my trial from Firestar, I didn’t really know what to expect. If I’m being honest, I thought I was receiving cans until a small package cropped up in my post box.

Eagerly opening the package I was greeted by 6 or 7 small sachets. Part of me thought I’d be duped, after all how can such a small amount affect me… Oh how I was wrong.

Taste

Taste doesn’t seem to be that important when all you’re doing is pouring a small amount of powder onto your tongue. However I was surprised to find a slight tingle and the reminder of lemon sherberts. Instead of just eating Firestar as I expected to do, I found my self savouring the flavour before swallowing. The moment I’d finished my little packet I found myself wanting more, however, the reason as to why I didn’t have another straight away will be explained later.

Effect

Everyone is to there own and so it’s hard to make an objective review here, but the 200mg of caffeine that the packet contains had an instant kick. I mean instant, I was awake and alert within 30 or so seconds. Unlike a drink which you can take an hour to drink, this is an instant kick, but a kick that lasts. Hours later I was still alert and awake with out feeling any of the side effects I some times find myself having after other products. However, the effects differ from person to person. I gave some Firestar Energy Booster to someone who never ever drinks caffeine and well the effects were amusing, he was hyperactive beyond all reason.

Verdict

Well all I can say is the condom, I think every bloke keeps in there wallet, is about to have a partner… MINES IN MY WALLET NOW. Firestar is caffeine gold. If you ever get the chance to try it, it’s worth every penny. If you are into endurance sport this is the product is especially for you! The only downfall I have with this product is the price, but as Firestar Energy goes into a more streamlined production I’m sure it will change.

200mg?? That sounds niiice! Most of those little things don’t have that much caffeine. Hmm. I like… I’m gonna check that out if/when I can!

Oops. Wasn’t done. It’s gotta be online, right? Available for a guy from Minnesota to buy? :D We’ll see… Or maybe I can even find it in Canada…

Wow. I got some of this after reading your review. Wow.

Let’s just say that this stuff is potent. Excellent find. Just don’t have one after 7pm, or you will not be sleeping well.

Does any one no where I could order some on the internet, it’s no longer sold on the web site.

I find most of the drinks to be gimmicks, too little caffeine for the cost. I drink some for the taste, mostly as mixers with vodka. The packets of crystals is getting more to my liking. I haven’t looked, but I doubt its worth the cost.

The solution for myself was buying pure caffeine powder. You won’t find it in any store, but it can be had online from places that carry various unregulated powders. I got a 400gram container for $13 + shipping (which wasn’t much as I ordered some other stuff at the same time). A few years later I still have most of it. That container is the same as 2000 of the Firestar packets, so even if I took that dose daily, it’d last me for half a decade.

The downside to buying the powder is connivence. You can’t just take a can with you, or a sachet or whatever. At slightly over 500mg per 1/4 tsp, you have to be careful measuring it out. I use the smallest spoon I have and only fill it partially, so I’m never completely sure if I’m getting 100mg or 300mg until I feel it hit. So far, the best solution is to toss a bit in a bottle of juice or gatorade and shake it up. Of course, if I need the instant kick, and I’m at home, I just toss it on my tongue and take a drink. Instant rush to say the least. With the combined paranoia about drugs and terrorism, I dare not try carrying anything containing unlabeled white powder with me, except to my office.

  • In the UK anyome can buy Pro Plus tabs over the counter. Each tab contains 100mg caffeine, made by Bayer. Prices vary but shot of buying pure caffeine powder it has to be the cheapest option, and no sugar / aspartame etc.

What is interesting is that pure a caffeine allows the user to distinguish between its effects and that of a massive dose of sugar. One down side of caffeine (apart from the usual medical issues associated with stimulants ie raised hbpm and blood pressure) is its repuation for inducing headaches following doses of 200mg +.
