Howling Monkey Energy Drink
A new energy drink called “Howling Monkey” has been spotted (in the wild so to speak). The people behind the drink – McKenzie River Corporation – are releasing this one under the radar. They are adopting 100% viral marketing by making mysterious appearances and giving away free samples.

There is virtually nothing about this drink anywhere and the website tells us virtually nothing. It’s all part of the mystique and I’ve fallen into the trap by blogging about it.
Nonetheless the drink appears to have an unusual ingredient – quinine. This is found only in soda water tonic water (sorry – my bad). There also seems to be a second formulation that is an energy cola.
No word on caffeine content either.
McKenzie usually produce beers – some may remember Sparks – their caffeinated ale.

I’m a howling monkey addict, LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Don’t discontinue my monkey, advertise it! The people that like it Really like it. I am running out of options. I know about 20 stores that had it here in San Diego but all are sold out.Whoever makes Howling Monkey should hire an advertising firm to make a commercial! The monkey on that can is a star waiting to be born. If the owners are to incompetent to make money with it a real company should buy it and use it, just look at the blogs! Make stickers, T-shirts, and bobbleheads you jackasses!

I live in Orange County California. I have looked everywhere for this drink so I can try it. Hell, I have scoured the internet too! I cannot find this stuff. Can anyone help? Please don’t leave your email address and offer to sell it to me. I want to find an actual retailer of some kind.
The Elixir is probably the best tasting energy drink out on the market right now. That taste of slight tartness gives you a boost all on its own. They sell them here in NYC/Brooklyn for a $1 per 16oz can making it cheaper than soda.
I am down to the last of my diet elixir reserves. I went through every dollar store I could find about 6 months ago and found stacks of cases of it. I bought ALL OF IT everywhere I found them. Unfortunately, I can’t find anymore….:( Is it still being produced?! Is my favorite drink ever gone forever?
I just found a ton of this stuff at a Big Lots in Western TN. I like the drink and I love the marketing of it. Im going to assume the product isnt made anymore due to the comments I see here.

Same here! LOL! Big Lots is selling them for 60 cents each and it’s a great bargain. The down side to this drink is a side effect known as jittery. I also have a lack of concentration with this drink since I cannot focus on doing one thing at a time…
Since people have noticing it in Big Lots in large quantities, I’m assuming they’re out of business since you can’t even find a link to contact them on their homepage. DUDE, I better stop drinking this stuff.

I live in South Carolina but my sister in Ft. Worth Texas turned me on to the sugar free Howling Monkey Energy Drink… OMG!!! This McKinsie River Corp who supposedly makes this stuff needs to at least market online… I would probably drive a good distance to stock up. I know it used to be sold at BP up here in MI, but haven’t seen it around in the past months (maybe years?). I would like to know what happened to it?, as it was a *really* good energy drink for the cost, & it wasn’t so bad. The cola was my favorite, the only downside is that it tasted somewhat flat, which all the cola ones did, but it gave me a heck of an energy boost!
