Study Shows Caffeine Doesn’t Lower Sperm Count

Researchers at the University Department of Growth and Reproduction at the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, Denmark  revealed the results of study which investigated whether or not high caffeine consumption effects sperm count.

Some of the participants consumed mainly Cola  as apart of their 800mg daily caffeine consumption while others consumed mainly coffee and tea as their primary source of caffeine. The results showed that the group that consumed mainly Cola based soft drinks had 30% lower sperm count. The men that primarily consumed coffee and tea had no change in their sperm count.

The researchers believe that there is some ingredient in the cola flavored soda that is causing this, but they aren’t sure what it is as further research would have to be conducted to determine the culprit.

The good news is that male caffeine addicts can still reproduce like rabbits, the bad news is that if this mystery ingredient is also in energy drinks then before long you could be shooting blanks…..

I think I’ll be switching to coffee for now until that one gets figured out… Farewell my best friend Monster. :(

I bet it’s that “caramel color” they put in there. Lol, jk, that’d be hilarious though. Looking at my can of Coke though, there is only 5 ingredients, not including caffeine. The only ingredients matched on a can of monster is carbonated water and natural flavors. Maybe it’s the phosphoric acid in cola? Idk, I never took chemistry, i really have no clue what im talking about.

800mg a day? By drinking cola?!?! At 35 mg a can thats 21 cans of cola a day. My God no wonder something went wrong.

21 cans of cola a day, my Gawd! Imagine all of the sugar that group is getting. That should also affect the sperm count because coffee and tea’s sugar content shouldn’t even come close to that. Well, depending on how much you add to your drinks. If that’s not the case, then I’ll be waiting for Coke contraceptives.
