US Senate Proposes an Energy Drink Tax
That is the current American National Debt and to knock off 24 Billion of that over the next 4 years the Senate is thinking about taxing your energy drinks and sodas.
Of course they claim that this is in the name of helping stupid Americans make better food choices because they need big brother to tell them what they should or shouldn’t eat.
A few months ago we wrote about the State of New York trying to pass a similar bill. It, fortunately, got voted down, but it does make you think about how much money could eventually be tacked onto our beverage of choice. For instance, if your state passes a 10% tax and then the Feds pass a similar tax, you could be paying around 20% more… Crazy.
I personally get tired of the government controlling more and more parts of our lives. Doesn’t being American mean that we are free to make our own decisions concerning things like our health?
Besides I get sick of politicians trying to act so benevolent when all they are really trying to do is raise taxes in a creative way and make more money.

Hey, just heard you responded. The issue was if a certain word previously mentioned is entered it is held. Personally I don’t drink much of that, tastes like chemical. And, I agree no government conspiracy, why would they care? Just wondering why your blocking political words in a political thread. So I guess my question of why still stands, it’s not about how long but why selective blocking. Wasn’t like I said anything foul or off color.

If they don’t like cigarettes why do they allow them to be sold? Good thing they take advantage of the poor addicted people by taxing the shit out of them. That way they will know they are wasting their money and won’t buy them anymore. They could easily eliminate all use by raising the required age each year, but they make way to much money off them for that.
And if they believe in freedom of choice like they say, why can’t American kids buy cigs? Make their own life choices like the government promised them.
The government is contradictory every step of the way, and only when it’s own interests are at stake. It’s interests claim to be for the people but that’s just not always true. (I don’t smoke, nor do i fight or support it. I do not like Obama, I do not like Macain, I am not labeling myself as a democrat or a republican.

i love energy drinks they shouldnt charge nasty taxes i drink them like every day
dont be mean to us the ones who like them u should put like taxes to furniture or something else but not energy drinks
