Caffeine Naps
So I found this nifty little post about a concept called a Caffeine Nap.
The idea comes from an article in Field & Stream magazine. Some people did some sciency stuff to determine the best way to stay awake while driving. Everyone knows the normal options: loud music, slapping your face, windows down for a blast of cold air. And, like readers of this site might guess, caffeine. What they found was that this Caffeine Nap thing. Basically, you chug a cup of coffee and immediately take a 15 minute nap. Get your coffee, pull in to a rest stop, chug and nap. The caffeine will clear out adenosine, a chemical that makes you sleepy, and then you’ll get a nice caffeine boost. But, no more than 15 minutes (and no less).
Or you can just stay perpetually wired on Monster. Whatever.

This works! I’ve been doing this for a few years now
A Monster + A Dr. Pepper + 30 minute nap = I can stay all night long!
i must say coffee and energy drinks have no effect on me, ive had several monsters, rockstars, a day and found it does nothing…..then and again i have ADD out the ass and can take 6-8 adderal with no effect.
^ Yea I agree with Bob… I had 3 rockstars one night (1 before I went to bed) and I fell asleep at about 1:30 AM. Thats early considering that I was at a sleep over and I go to bed at around 4:00 AM at sleep overs…but… I woke up with very bad chest pains. I believe this is from the Taurine (please correct me if I am wrong. Since Taurine controls muscle movement I figured that is what was causing the chest pains. Same with Starbucks or any caffinated products like soda. I find they never give me any energy. I do not have ADD so I dont know what it was that made me fall asleep so early with all that sugar and caffine.
Isn’t this what the some upper class Chinse do at their “nap bars”? I believe they take a high dose of caffeine, enter a sleeping pod, and sleep for fifteen minutes.
this is no new thing. i work nights @ ups and school during day. i split my sleep into two “shifts” i always drink a coffee before my shorter evening nap. although my theory was that it simply took a whole for the caffeine to hit my system. but there idea kinda makes sense in an expensive and yet useless university study kinda way.
