Fixx Energy: Top of the Caffeine Database

Picture of FixxFixx has 500mg of caffeine in its 20 ounce bottle. At first I couldn’t believe it. I emailed the beverage company just to make sure – and yes – it’s 500mg.

Here’s what the people at Fixx say about their drink:

…we’ve drank many of the energy drinks on the market and We Think They Suck! We don’t feel any energy; not what you should feel if they really are energy drinks. This just pissed us off! And to make matters worse, they taste horrible! You can see why we decided to make a Real Energy Drink.

The closest drink in terms of caffeine is the rare Wired x505 (505mg caffeine in a 23.5 ounce can).

But seriously. Go easy on this stuff.

UPDATE 2009: Fixx energy drink has been replaced with Fixx Extreme Energy Shot – 400mg of caffeine in a single 5ml shot… see it here. Save 10% on each order with code “eshot10“.

Wow, that’s like 5 cups of coffee in one small bottle… You could gulp that in like 30 secs. Now that’s really dangerous… I really feel there should be a legal limit to the amount of caffeine in energy drinks, I mean 20 bottles of this stuff and you’d be “pushing up daisies”. Pretty scary.

If you weighed only 88 pounds, you could kill yourself with the 12 pack… And it’s only 25 dollars with FREE SHIPPING! What a deal!

Anyone seen these at like a GNC or something. I’d like to try one bufore buying a whole case.

Toby July 27th, 2007 11:42 am

Holy schneikes. That is A LOT of caffeine!!! I am drinking a Diet Pepsi Max right now and that has about 100 mg of caffeine, according to the bottle. Please blog about their commercials!! (wakeuppeople.com) It’s interesting how they say it energizes you but doesn’t advertise too obviously on the bottle that it has more caffeine.

I think I might have actually seen this at a 7-11.

Mimzy July 27th, 2007 3:14 pm

I sense forthcoming trip-to-the-ER stories about this drink.

This sounds like a RedLine tasting beverage. If it is I’m staying away (RedLine tastes awful) If it does not taste like RedLine, I’m in for it full tilt. But the caff level for me is okay. I’ve done way more on pills and other beverages to dwarf this, so bring it on.

I hope kids aren’t stupid enough to do what they did with spiked.

AaronD July 29th, 2007 12:38 pm

Redline taste better than most energy drinks, but to make it about the same as others just add it to 7-up or sprite.

I don’t know if there’s slight differences between US and Canada RedLine (If there is, I’d like to know.) The first RedLine I had was great. I loved the buzz and all but the second one I had (different time altogether) caused me to throw up. Taste was awful

I talked to Mike over at Fixx and he said that it’s one of the better tasting energy drinks. He says it’s got a sweet green tea type of taste. I just ordered a 12 pack and will let you know how they taste sometime this week.

Hello everyone. I am FIXX™’s Customer Satisfaction Agent for Minnesota. I would first like to thank all of you for showing interest in FIXX™.

I have noticed that some of you have brought up other energy drinks. Many of you have concern for one’s health while drinking an energy drink. Some other energy drinks use yohimbine along with caffine. We believe this is a dangerous combination and the reason that some people damage themselves. We do not use yohimbine. We have studied the effects of every ingredient in FIXX™, and when comparing ourselves to other energy drinks on the market, we believe we are safe and effective.

FYI we are coming out with another version of FIXX™. This will be slightly carbonated, and most likely in an 8 ounce can. We would like to take down the energy drinks that are a bunch of “bull”.

If you’re too afraid to try FIXX™, maybe Midol is a better choice for you.

P.S. Our new website is up and rolling.

Nate Mattis

Ooh a rep for FIXX has posted. Interestingly cool.

Travis August 5th, 2007 7:28 pm

Honestly, its the worst drink I’ve ever tasted. I couldn’t even take a few sips without wanting o throw up. Definitely the biggest waste of $25 for me.

bighead August 6th, 2007 9:29 am

I actually like the taste. As long as it’s nice and cold it’s easy to drink and refreshing. Warm it isn’t the best but definitely not the worst tasting drink by far. I do have to say that if you can’t stand the taste of green tea then you might not like the taste. If you do, you probably will. Now for the kick, it’s by far the best of any product I’ve ever used. And please don’t anyone say that Red Bull, RockStar or Monster do anything for them. If they do then stay away from FIXX. This stuff is strong and lasts for hours with no crash. Just my two cents.

FIXX IS GREAT I HAD GASTRIC BYPASS AND CANT HAVE CARBONATION SO FIXX GOES DOWN SMOOTH AND GIVES ME A GREAT KICK PLUS MANY OF VITAMIN B IN FIXX RULES

nocash August 7th, 2007 5:07 pm

This stuff is harsh. I bought a case when I first read this post and have been drinking it over the last few days. I’ve drank a lot of energy drinks of varying strength, but I’ve never felt the effects as much as with Fixx.

That’s pretty impressive, considering the stuff tastes so bad I can barely drink half a bottle at a time. I’ve shared it with some friends at work. One nearly died on the spot from the taste. Most find it bad or outright disgusting. A couple were indifferent and one thought it tasted great. Unfortunately, I can’t be more descriptive then that… I still have no idea what it tastes like.

Fortunately, I didn’t buy it for the flavor, so I’m not disappointed. If you want an insanely strong drink, this’ll do it. If you want something that tastes good, I personally suggest Rockstar Juiced or Zero Carb.

razorguy August 15th, 2007 3:31 pm

I bought a case, and wow, it tastes TERRIBLE. You really have to just chug it without breathing or you may feel the urge to vomit. It does give a really good energy kick, though. I just wish they would improve the taste because it needs it, and in a bad way.

monsteaddict August 16th, 2007 7:51 pm

WOW. There are going to be so many people going to the hospital after drinking this stuff not knowing the amount of caffeine in it. In addition to that, I would not be surprised if people start suuing whoever makes this.

The Prez August 20th, 2007 9:44 am

Hey everyone, I’m the president of FIXX Beverage and I just wanted to let you all know that we take your feedback very seriously. We have been working on improving the taste of FIXX and will continue to do so. Our main issue is that we need to mask the strong green tea extract that’s used in FIXX. This is not the normal green tea powder used in most products but an extract that is equivalent to drinking 30 cups of high quality green tea (150 mg EGCG per bottle). I will post again once we have the improved flavor. The funny thing is we have just as many people who love the flavor as those who don’t. My only suggestion is to get it as ice cold as possible. This will make the product taste 100% better.

As far as people being afraid of caffeine, this is getting way out of hand. If you drink a starbucks medium coffee, you get a lot of caffeine and people drink 4-6 cups of this stuff a day. Then go to the 24 oz coffees which on average have 100 mg of caffeine per 8 oz and they drink these all day long. Caffeine is not the demon it’s made out to be. Don’t be stupid about it and there won’t be any problems. Heck, ephedra/caffeine was used by millions of people without any problems but those who took massive amounts of ephedrine hcl, the drug company version, had side effects and fatalities but it’s easier to blame the supplements than it is to fight the drug companies. By the way, FIXX has ingredients that take the edge off of caffeine so you get the up without all the negatives. You are all invited to keep giving us your feedback and we will continue to try to improve.
