Full Throttle Unleaded: Fancy Name for Diet

fullthrottleunleaded.jpgThe Coca-cola company is onto something.

They’ve figured out that energy drinks sell not because of price or taste, but because of cool names and funky designs on the can.

If you don’t believe me, you can wade through a large piece of research from Nielsen [PDF]. When they talk about energy drinks they mention:

…marketers must ensure they are generating buzz through exciting advertising, new introductions and dynamic packaging that leaps off the shelves

So, to Full Throttle Unleaded. What is it? It’s sugar-free Full Throttle with a funkier name. Just release.

As usual, the guys at EnergyThis are shipping it in bulk.

We’ve had this here for a few weeks. It’s pretty good. A welcome addition as I only drink sugar free energy drinks.

This is exactly the same product as the original ’sugar free’ version of full throttle.

We had both can versions at the same time here…same stuff, just a different can design. Product still stinks! We haven’t had sugar-free full throttle fury in nearly a year now!

I don’t see the Fury sugarfree much anymore and it is a better product I think. I like the new can design of the “Unleaded” but it is just the same ol sugarfee

That is true about what the product looks like. I used to buy Monster because of the cool M scratch. But my cousin also got me hooked on em. Now I buy then because I like them. I never have had the Full Throttle Unleaded…but will possibly try it in the future. I wish Coca-Cola would include Full Throttle in the MyCokeRewards program.

To me calling any drink “unleaded” makes me think that it is caffeine free, not sugar free.

dude if ur drinking energy drinks the sugar goes with it. whats up with the sugar free craze? i know, im gonna go for some sugar free caffeine free mountain dew! i call it water…

Yeah, unleaded means caffeine free to me too. Bad choice to rename it that way.

I would like to get free full throttle through mycokerewards.com too!!

We’ve seen an increase in sales since the name change from Sugar Free to Unleaded.

It’s amazing what a simple name change will do to a product.

I love the Full Throttle Unleaded/Sugar Free. I’m diabetic and cannot drink energy drinks with sugar. I also work 60-80 hrs a week and need to stay awake. I’ve tried most of the other energy drinks out there, but Full Throttle Unleaded helps me stay awake without side effects, and it tastes great. I’d like to try the Fury Sugar Free, but I have a hard enough time finding the Full Throttle Unleaded. I really wish they would add Full Throttle to Coke Rewards :)

I don’t care what the can looks like. I drink the stuff for the taste, and Full Throttle Unleaded/Sugar Free is the only one on the market that I like. Everything else tastes exactly like Red Bull, which I can’t stand, or it’s too fruity.

I think availability has more to do with sales than packaging. When it was called Sugar Free, I could never find it in stores. Now that it’s “Unleaded”, everyone stocks it all the time. So of course sales will increase!

And yes, some of us like caffeinated beverages, even though we don’t like to consume sugar. Dude.

I am in love with Sugar Free Full Throttle. It’s flavor reminds me of a gummie bear and it provides lasting energy for hours. It is by far the BEST energy drink on the market!!!
